What is practical and efficient?

Practical and efficient mainly means: as little invasive work as possible with a lasting result. In many homes, the existing staircase is still structurally in good condition. In that case, stair renovation is often sufficient. However, if the staircase is worn out, unstable, or no longer fits the layout of the home, a new staircase is usually the better choice. By carefully considering safety, comfort, and future use, you prevent unnecessary costs and work.

What is a new staircase and when do you choose one?

A new staircase means that the existing staircase is completely removed and replaced. Installing a new staircase is especially necessary when the basic structure no longer meets requirements.

You choose a new staircase in the following situations:

  • The staircase is structurally damaged or unstable
  • There is wood rot, sagging, or severe wear
  • The stairs no longer meet safety standards.
  • You want a completely different staircase model or a different staircase layout
  • The layout of the home changes, for example during a renovation

Installing a new staircase takes more time and work, but offers maximum freedom in shape, dimensions, and appearance.

Around stair cladding with the smooth finish

With this option, we use 2 renovator treads. You get a renovator tread on the top of your step and a renovator tread on the bottom of your step. It looks sleek and modern.

Around stairs covering with the U-cap finish

With this option, we use a stair nosing overlay for the top, and at the bottom you get a panel without a nosing in the same color as the stair nosing overlay. A U-profile is used as a closure at the back of the step. With this option, a small thick edge is visible. A somewhat more affordable option for all-around stair cladding is the option with the U-profile finish.

Upholstering on the walking section only

With this option, the steps are only covered on the top with a stair nose overlay. The steps are finished with cover strips. The underside of your step retains its original state.

Enclosing the open staircase

At JB Traprenovatie, you can also have your open staircase enclosed. We use primed MDF panels for this. Process: The rounded MDF panels are glued and stapled securely to the back of the staircase.
